We recommend you read the getting started section below, before starting the Questbook.

MEET THE CHARACTERS

The four misfit members of the main adventuring party are Zeke, Able, Ruby, and Sapphire, though other characters will join and leave the adventurers as the story progresses. The adventurers have banded together out of need to survive in the harsh medieval world, circa 600 AD, known as The Dark Ages. Each member has their own reason for staying with the adventuring party, which will be devulged in the plot of the story. Now, lets meet the characters individually.

This Interactive Questbook Adventure™ is based on the soon to be published book, Mortal Conquests of the Dark Ages ™ - “The Wayfarers”, by David Michael Dean, who is also the developer of this website. A sneakpeak at the eBook can be read by following this link “Review the Book”.

Hezekiah Plowsman - (Aka. Zeke)

Age - 16

I am just over six feet tall, no giant, but I do have a near Herculean build. I would not win any beauty contests, but I am not very bad looking either. A pale line, about a forefinger in length, runs down the left side of my cheek, a scar I got when the biting end of my stepfathers riding whip struck my face. It does not add character. Most girls say they like my eyes, which are a sea green with golden highlights near the edges, and some girls say they like my wavy hair, which falls to just below my shoulders. Overall, I fare pretty well in the looks department, though I am still self-conscious about the facial disfigurement.

Sapphire

Age - 17

Sapphire and Ruby are orphaned twins. Both girls are wafer thin, but show all the signs of healthy development in all the right places. Their complexions are milky white, and there is a light dusting of freckles above their noses. They have pale green eyes, like ripe green apples, and a head of bright red untamed hair that falls well below their waists.

Though the twins may look identical, their personalities are as different as night from day.

Able Nimblefingers

Age - Unknown

Able is a Draabitz halfling, a seafaring group of beings that are noted for being nefarious in nature. Somehow this trait failed to rub off on Able, who is quite the opposite. In most fantasy settings, halflings usually don’t have any facial hair, yet Able has a flowing mustache and beard that would rival a dwarf’s. His eyes, hair, and mustache are coal black, unless he is using a disguise, in which case, his hair color might be dyed. It’s unknown if he has any clue as to how old he is.

A quick note about our Artwork Contest. The character artwork above was submitted by Sawash Mohammed, who is the first artist to submit his work in the Mortal Conquests of the Dark Ages Artwork Contest. More information about the contest can be obtained by following this link “Contests”.

INSTRUCTIONS & SPECIAL NOTES

The format of Interactive Questbook Adventures ™  is simple. At certain points in the story, the reader will not only be able to choose from two or more options that will affect the way the story unfolds, but the readers choices will also help determine what will be published by the author when the time comes to publish. For more information on how this works, CLICK HERE.

Once you get started reading, simply pick the option that you feel is the right one for the situation when you reach that point, and see how your choices affect the storyline, and possibly how those choices will determine what is published in the actual book.

Special Important Notes:

It is important that you SAVE your place in the adventure, because if you dont, you will be forced to start all over again. This can be done by bookmarking the webpage that you are on, or by saving the webpage to your documents file using your browsers save option, or copy and paste the URL of the page to a notepad or a word program.

If you are unhappy with a decision you made when selecting one of the options that were available to you, simply hit your browsers back arrow, and choose another option.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

The writing of the first book in the Mortal Conquests of the Dark Ages ™  series is nearly complete. Though the designing of this website is so that it will offer readers an opportunity to take part in the writing of the next book in the series, help with the first book is still needed. Those who are reviewing the first book, can still help by taking part in the art contest that we are sponsoring.  The contest will allow readers to design, submit, and vote on the artwork for the very first book in the series, and on forthcoming books in the series. Also, I would appreciate feedback on the storyline, and editing tips regarding format, spelling, or grammatical errors. Readers can use our Feedback link to post their thoughts.

This website features an Interactive Questbook Adventure ™ , in which the reader can help contribute in the final outcome of the book, and future books in the series. Readers will be allowed a chance to select from options that will ultimately decide the outcome of the story, and determine the artwork that will be featured when the book is published. Contests will determine which submitted artwork will represent the book, and a survey will determine which of the storylines will finally make it to publishing.
