Artwork Contest

The authors publisher offers free generic cover art for authors publishing with them, and since I am not an artist, this is an option that I can utilize, but prefer not to. Since this generic artwork is pretty lame, I came up with an idea to hold a contest that might help an artist get exposure for their work.

I am currently accepting free artwork contributions for the first book in the Mortal Conquests of the Dark Ages ™ book series. For this book, I will only need artwork that will represent the cover. During the writing of future books in the series, contests will be held to find free cover art and free interior artwork for these books, and for this website.

Since I am self-publishing, money is very tight. The best I can offer those who freely contribute artwork will be a chance to gain exposure for their work by giving the contest winning artists credit. The artists name will appear next to the artwork in whatever location it appears within the book, and if the artwork is the cover art of the book, then the artists name will also appear on the cover of whichever book the artist is submitting his artwork for. Additional credit will be given to the artist on the credits page of the book, the credits page of the eBook, and anywhere the artwork is used within this website.

The artwork I would like to find for each book, should represent the characters, either individually, or as a group, and artwork that depicts certain scenes within future books.

What is needed…

1) Cover Art for the first book in the series.

2) Cover Art for future books in the series.

3) Interior Artwork for future books in the series.

Cover Art deadlines for the first book will be November 1st, 2010. Starting November 2nd, 2010, we will conduct a survey that will allow readers to vote for their favorite artwork. This survey will conclude on November 31st, 2010. Winning artists will be notified via this website by December 7th, 2010.

Contest Artwork for future books in the series will begin being accepted as each book is being written using the Interactive Questbook Adventures ™ system, which will start around January 15th, 2010.

Artwork should be submitted via email at d20rpgwizards@yahoo.com. Please include the artists name, and a statement verifying that the artist has read the Contributions section of our Terms and Conditions.
